Netflix Cancels 2 Star-Filled New Shows

This year, Netflix chose not to continue two of their recently launched shows. As for Liz Feldman’s black comedy series, No Good Deed, the outlook remains unclear, as it has been almost seven months since its premiere.

What are Netflix’s two new canceled shows?

The streaming platform has officially decided to halt production on Shonda Rhimes’ newest murder mystery series, The Residence, as well as its first original English medical drama, Pulse. A recent article states that The Residence’s initial release was outshone by the phenomenal success of the suspenseful drama Adolescence, which debuted a week prior to The Residence. Regarding Pulse, it failed to measure up to the achievements of other recently launched medical dramas such as The Pitt, starring Noah Wyle on Max. It is said that the cast and team behind both shows were informed about the cancellations around a month back.

The television series titled “The Residence” was developed by Paul William Davies as the showrunner. Shonda Rhimes, creator of How to Get Away with Murder, along with Betsy Beers, served as executive producers. This drama revolved around Detective Cordelia Cupp, a member of the Metropolitan Police Department, who finds herself at the forefront of a high-stakes murder investigation within The White House. The show boasted an impressive ensemble cast featuring Uzo Aduba, Randall Park, Giancarlo Esposito, Susan Kelechi Watson, Ken Marino, Jason Lee, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Edwina Findley, Molly Griggs, Al Mitchell, Dan Perrault, Bronson Pinchot, Julieth Restrepo, Mel Rodriguez, Mary Wiseman, and others.

The series, titled “Pulse,” was developed and overseen by Zoe Robyn, who additionally served as the showrunner alongside Carlton Cuse from “Lost.” This captivating drama features an ensemble cast that includes Willa Fitzgerald (“The Fall of the House of Usher”), Justina Machado (“One Day at a Time”), Colin Woodell (“The Continental”), Jack Bannon (“Pennyworth”), Jessica Rothe (“Happy Death Day”), Jessie T. Usher (“The Boys”), Daniela Nieves (“Vampire Academy”), Jessy Yates (“Law & Order: SVU”), Chelsea Muirhead (“Warrior”), Néstor Carbonell (“The Morning Show”), Santiago Segura (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Ash Santos (“Mayor of Kingstown”), and Arturo Del Puerto (“Westworld”).
