Neil Gaiman & Wife Sued Over Alleged Sexual Assault & Human Trafficking

Neil Gaiman and his spouse, Amanda Palmer, are under severe allegations stemming from a lawsuit initiated by their former live-in nanny, Scarlett Pavlovich. The lawsuit alleges that Gaiman frequently physically abused Pavlovich during her tenure as a caregiver. Additionally, she has levied charges of human trafficking against both of them.

Here is more about the lawsuit against Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer.

Neil Gaiman and wife sued by babysitter

Neil Gaiman and his spouse are facing legal action from their previous live-in nanny, Scarlett Pavlovich. The lawsuit alleges that Gaiman subjected Pavlovich to repeated sexual assaults during her employment with the couple in New Zealand. Pavlovich asserts that these abusive actions by Gaiman included aggressive acts like choking, hitting with a belt, and insisting she call him “master.” (Based on an article from Variety)

As a gamer, I was shocked to learn about the allegations in the lawsuit that mention Palmer. It claims she knew about Gaiman’s past history of sexual misconduct when she hired Pavlovich. To make matters worse, both of them are accused of human trafficking. The suit further states that these acts were abusive and degrading. I was dismayed to learn that Scarlett had to endure such treatment because she feared losing her job, housing, and future career support if she didn’t comply.

The allegations against Neil Gaiman aren’t fresh; similar accusations surfaced last year during a Tortoise Media podcast and an article from New York Magazine. These claims involved testimonies from eight women, including Pavlovich. They alleged that some of their sexual encounters with Gaiman were consensual, but there were instances where BDSM or rough sex took place without prior consent. One woman asserted that Gaiman coerced her into having sex as a condition for letting her stay on his property.

Neil Gaiman clearly refutes these claims, as stated in his personal blog post entitled “Breaking the Silence.” He openly admits to making personal errors, yet maintains that he has never been involved in any instances of non-consentual sexual activity.
