Official trailer and plot of NEEK

The movie titled “NEEK” is a heartwarming blend of coming-of-age and romance, skillfully directed by Dhanush. This captivating tale revolves around Prabhu, a young man in his twenties who has yet to fully recover from a breakup that transpired a year prior.

In the course of living his life, Prabhu’s elders urge him towards a pre-arranged union with his old friend, Preethi, despite the fact that he hasn’t completely recovered emotionally from a previous romantic involvement.

Following his heartrending story, Preethi advises him to find peace with his past by attending his former girlfriend’s wedding. This action is intended to bring closure. Throughout the movie, we see Prabhu grapple with his feelings and strive for self-improvement as he navigates this challenging journey.

Cast and crew of NEEK

In the main character, NEEK showcases Pavish Narayan, Dhanush’s nephew. Alongside him is an impressive cast that includes Mathew Thomas, Anikha Surendran, Priya Prakash Varrier, R. Sarathkumar, Venkatesh Menon, and several others in significant roles.

In this movie, directed by Dhanush, the screenplay was written by him personally, and it was produced under his own production company. The music for the film was created by GV Prakash Kumar, while Leon Britto took charge of the cinematography and Prasanna GK handled the editing.

Originally conceived for release in 2016, featuring Dhanush as the main character and directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, the movie didn’t come to fruition. As a result, Dhanush decided to step behind the camera to direct it himself instead.
