Curious about when NBA YoungBoy will actually be released from prison? It seems there’s some surprise news as rumors suggest he’s already out, much earlier than expected on March 24th. Whether you’ve been keeping a close eye on his legal struggles or just caught wind of the headlines, this early release has definitely sparked some confusion.

Here’s what we know so far about his reported release and what it could mean moving forward.

Is NBA YoungBoy released from prison?

According to HotNewHipHop, NBA YoungBoy, who is also recognized by his stage name YoungBoy Never Broke Again, has allegedly left Talladega Federal Correctional Institution located in Alabama.

According to various reports, it appears that YoungBoy may no longer be in custody, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed by the prison or his attorney. These claims are supported by DJ Akademiks, court records, and social media posts from affiliates. It’s said that he was released a month early, on March 26, 2025, and taken to an unspecified location, which could be a halfway house or possibly his own home.

OG 3Three expressed excitement on Instagram Stories saying ‘My baby is back home!!!’ Similarly, Rich The Kid posted ‘YB Free!!!’. It appears that YoungBoy, who was initially scheduled for release in July 2025, now has an earlier release date of April 26, 2025. After serving about eleven months of his twenty-three month sentence, he is reportedly free.

On April 16, 2024, authorities apprehended YoungBoy at his residence in Utah for operating a prescription drug scam and illegally possessing firearms due to his previous felony conviction. At the time of his arrest, he was already under house arrest in Louisiana for an unrelated gun case. In November 2024, he admitted guilt to ten drug-related offenses, receiving a suspended sentence and a fine of $25,000. In December, he confessed to the firearm charge and was sentenced to 23 months in prison.

Currently, he’s on a supervised probation that lasts for five years. This period involves regular drug and alcohol tests every month (up to six times), as well as undergoing mental health and substance abuse evaluations. His lawyer, Drew Findling, has expressed confidence about his early release, saying “People will be surprised at how quickly he’ll be out… Everything might work in his favor.” At present, NBA YoungBoy himself hasn’t commented on this matter publicly.
