Nayanthara's open letter to Dhanush for Netflix documentary was PR strategy? Here's what Lady Superstar has to say

As a dedicated fan who has followed Nayanthara and Dhanush’s journey for years, I find myself deeply moved by the unfolding events between these two powerhouses of Tamil cinema. It seems that their feud has escalated to unprecedented heights, with Nayanthara’s recent open letter to Dhanush causing quite a stir in the industry.

The ongoing dispute between Nayanthara and Dhanush has sparked widespread conversation, following Nayanthara’s public letter addressed to him. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actress explained her reasoning for making the matter public in relation to her Netflix documentary. She also disclosed that she felt compelled to do so as Dhanush refused to engage in a conversation with her directly.

Nayanthara made clear that she wouldn’t stoop to damaging someone’s reputation just for gaining publicity. However, some of Dhanush’s admirers and well-wishers suggested it was a promotional strategy for the movie, but she firmly denied this claim, stating it was never their objective.

The actress made it clear that the movie wasn’t intended for typical viewing. Instead, she explained it was a documentary, suggesting that those who admire the subject should find it interesting.

Nayanthara, as reported by News 18, stated, “The reason I’m sharing this is because many people have been generous in supporting us, which we greatly appreciate. However, there are some who claim to be his fans and well-wishers, which is all right. But it’s puzzling when they suggest that our actions were merely a publicity stunt for the film. I sincerely believe that wasn’t our intention.

Nayanthara clarified that the dispute originated due to her expressing her views publicly. She elaborated that she genuinely endeavored to communicate directly with Dhanush to obtain accurate information about the matter. The actress pointed out that Vignesh made multiple attempts to reach Dhanush’s manager, and she too attempted to connect with him, but failed in doing so.

Nayanthara mentioned that she also attempted to contact him via mutual friends, but to no avail. She made it clear that the BTS clips featured in the trailer for Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale were taken on their phones quite some time back. Nayanthara stated that there had been a lot of confusion surrounding the circumstances.

She made clear that the clip wasn’t part of the movie but rather clips taken on smartphones prior to production. Lady Superstar added that only minimal use of this footage was visible in the film’s promotional material. Nayanthara went on to say that, given the minor problems potentially caused by Dhanush or his team during production, a composed individual would have chosen to overlook these issues when the trailer debuted.

Despite his well-deserved fame as an admired actor, who is cherished by countless fans, including myself, a situation arose that was unjust, and I felt compelled to express my thoughts.” (Nayanthara stated)

Nayanthara shared that her boldness to tackle the issue stemmed from her understanding of the truth, and emphasized that there’s nothing to fear when honesty is involved. She also mentioned that if she didn’t voice her opinion when the situation escalated, it might discourage others from standing up in similar circumstances in the future.
