Nayanthara SLAMS Dhanush for filing copyright case worth 10 crores over using footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary

As a longtime admirer of Nayanthara’s talent and grace, I must say that her recent open letter to Dhanush is both poignant and powerful. Her words speak not only to the current copyright dispute but also to the broader dynamics within the Tamil film industry.

Nayanthara’s upcoming Netflix documentary, titled “Nayanthara: Beyond the Enchanted Story,” promises to reveal previously unknown aspects of the actress’ life. However, production seems to have encountered a problem as Dhanush, a prominent figure in the industry, has filed a 10-crore copyright lawsuit against the producers for using brief clips from Nayanthara’s film “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,” which Dhanush himself produced. Now, Nayanthara responds with an open letter.

Via Instagram, Nayanthara penned a public letter to Dhanush, explaining her shock and disappointment over his copyright claim on her Netflix documentary valued at Rs. 10 crores. She perceived this action as retaliation since he had not granted permission for them to use certain movie clips.

In a passage she wrote, Nayanthara stated, “This is a new low from you, revealing much about your true character. It’s sad that the person you present as on stage during audio launches to your unsuspecting fans isn’t reflected in your actions towards me and my companion. You seem to fall short of the ideals you claim to uphold.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that the renowned woman in the limelight disclosed the hardship she and her team encountered following the copyright lawsuit directed at her documentary. She also pointed out that the footage was captured on private devices and can currently be found openly circulating on social media platforms.

Furthermore, Nayanthara reminisced about the past and recalled the moment when Dhanush’s ego was deeply wounded following the massive success of their movie, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

At last, she advocated for love as the ultimate power over all else, hoping that the creator would demonstrate great kindness and regard for those who dedicate immense effort.

For those not familiar, the documentary “Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale” is set to premiere on Netflix on November 18, 2024. This film offers a glimpse into various backstage moments from the life of the actress, encompassing her filmography, personal experiences, accolades, and much more.
