As a connoisseur of all things cinematic, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and admiration when I reflect on Shruti Haasan’s remarkable journey in the world of Hollywood. Her debut with the movie “The Eye” was nothing short of groundbreaking, and it’s truly inspiring to see her continue to make waves in the industry. Recently, fellow actress Nayanthara took to social media to pen a heartfelt note celebrating Shruti’s achievements, and I can’t help but share in their enthusiasm for this incredible talent.
Lately on Instagram, Nayanthara posted the trailer for The Eye and commented “Sooo good, Shrutz.” To this, Shruti responded by re-sharing the post and expressing her gratitude with “Thank you so much. It means a great deal.

Under the guidance of director Daphne Schmon, “The Eye” is a gripping British psychological thriller starring Shruti Haasan and Mark Rowley as the main characters. This movie had its premiere at both the London Independent Film Festival and the Greek International Film Festival.
The plot revolves around Diana, a young lady who journeys to an island with the intention of spreading Felix’s remains. On the island, she discovers there’s a malevolent talisman capable of reviving Felix—under the condition that someone else must be sacrificed. The question of how far Diana will go in her quest for his resurrection is the central theme of the film.
Apart from Shruti and Mark, the movie boasts a diverse cast, consisting of Anna Savva, Linda Marlowe, and Christos Stergioglou as well.
Regarding Shruti Haasan’s upcoming films, she will star in Coolie, which is being helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. This highly anticipated movie, headlined by Rajinikanth, is speculated to be an action-packed extravaganza. Notable actors Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao are also part of the cast in significant roles. Additionally, there are whispers that Aamir Khan might make a brief appearance in the film.
Moreover, there are rumors that Shruti might feature in the film “Jana Nayagan,” which stars Thalapathy Vijay. However, the production team has not yet announced if she will actually be a part of it.
Instead, let me rephrase that for you in a more conversational tone: Nayanthara is currently taking up her role for Mookuthi Amman 2. This new installment of the series will be directed by Sundar C, who has stepped in to replace RJ Balaji in the director’s chair.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that Nayanthara is all set to venture into the OTT world with her movie titled Test. This film, a sports drama featuring actors Siddharth and R. Madhavan, will premiere exclusively on Netflix on April 4, 2025.
