In simple terms, the new movie Mookuthi Amman 2 is planned as a continuation of the 2020 film Mookuthi Amman. The original film was helmed by directors RJ Balaji and N. J. Saravanan. This entertaining blend of fantasy and comedy stars Nayanthara in the main role, where she played a deity.

This movie chronicles the life of Engels, a man who is both a reporter and a family member. But things get interesting when the deity from his ancestral temple miraculously manifests at his home, granting wishes, bestowing blessings, and serving as a form of satire to expose fraudulent spiritual leaders.

Featuring Nayanthara and RJ Balaji as the main characters, this film boasted a star-studded cast that included Urvashi, Smruthi Venkat, Madhu Mailankody, Abinaya, Moulee, Ajay Ghosh, among others, in pivotal roles. The movie debuted on Disney+ Hotstar (now JioCinema) on November 14, 2020.

In the future, most recently, Nayanthara starred as the main character in the 2023 film titled Annapoorani: The Food Goddess. Additionally, she will feature in her own documentary named Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale. For the year 2025, it looks like there are multiple films on her acting schedule.

She’s about to be seen in the sports drama “Test,” alongside Siddharth and R. Madhavan. Furthermore, she has a list of upcoming films including “Mannangatti Since 1960,” “Dear Students,” “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups” starring Yash, and “MMMN” where she shares the screen with Mammootty and Mohanlal, among others.
