As a long-time admirer of Dhanush’s exceptional talent and dedication to his craft, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent turn of events surrounding him. The allegations against him, if true, are certainly not in line with the high standards he has set for himself throughout his illustrious career.
Actor Dhanush, currently enjoying the acclaim of his recent movie Raayan, finds himself in a predicament following the revelation that his name appeared in discussions at the Tamil Film Producers Council. According to news outlets, he has been accused of accepting money from filmmakers without subsequently appearing on set for scheduled shoots.
In the most recent development, Nasser and Karthi, fellow actors, have expressed their solidarity with a colleague via the Nadigar Sangam organization. They publicly criticized the council and distributed an official statement to media outlets about this issue.
Nadigar Sangam condemns TFPC and extends support for Dhanush
Following the Tamil Film Producers Council’s warning towards superstar Dhanush due to unfinished projects despite receiving upfront payments, the Actors’ Association (Nadigar Sangam) stood in solidarity with Dhanush.
The group, headed by prominent actors Nasser, Vishal, and Karthi, clarified that there have been no complaints filed against Mr. Dhanush by the Tamil Film Producers up until now, and currently, there are no outstanding complaints against him.
According to Indiaglitz’s report, the TFPC was strongly criticized because they made a decision about the actor who played Captain Miller without seeking advice from the Nadigar Sangam. Moreover, the Nadigar Sangam voiced their disapproval towards the TFPC for planning a strike of Tamil film shootings without first discussing it with them.
Additionally, Karthi addressed the matter with the press, labeling it as unjustifiable. According to the organization’s stance, a dialogue is needed between the two organizations to tackle these problems and arrive at an agreement that benefits both parties.
The TFPC has not responded to these condemnations from the Nadigar Sangam.
Why has Dhanush been issued a ‘red card’ by TFPC?
In the city of Chennai, the Tamil Film Producers Council convened a gathering where they deliberated on suspending all film-related tasks until November 1st.
1. In the gathering, it was decided to work through pending movie projects at different production stages and examine escalating production costs. At this same meeting, the Council singled out Dhanush for attention, requesting that filmmakers consult them prior to hiring the Raayan actor.
For those not familiar, in 2023, Dhanush faced allegations by Sri Thenandal Films that he failed to show up for a scheduled shoot after receiving payment in advance. According to News18, the Tamil Film Producers Association suggested that producers consult with them prior to starting work on new films featuring actor Dhanush, given that he had received advance payments from multiple production companies.
As a devoted fan, I must share that beyond being recognized as Kubera’s acting counterpart, Tamil star Vishal has unfortunately found himself in a challenging situation. Reports suggest he was issued a red card for allegedly mismanaging the council’s funds during his term as TFPC president.
