The Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas will host the first major U.S. survey of Antony Gormley’s work, showcasing his career from the 1980s to today. SURVEY: Antony Gormley, running from September 13, 2025, to January 4, 2026, explores the artist’s lifelong investigation of sculpture’s role and impact.
The exhibition extends beyond the museum, with new site-specific works installed on the rooftops of downtown Dallas skyscrapers. These elevated sculptures, composed of stainless steel trajectories, will catch and reflect light against the Texas sky.
Inside the Nasher, a selection of Gormley’s sculptures will interact with the museum’s architecture, examining the body’s relationship to space. A dedicated gallery will showcase models of his large-scale global projects, including Angel of the North, alongside workbooks he has carried since the 1970s.
In a press statement, Gormley describes the show as a “test site” for sculpture, inviting viewers to engage with form, space and perception.
