Nani recalls getting mixed reviews for Ante Sundaraniki; ‘People expected a fun film from me, but we delivered a slow-paced drama’

As a fervent admirer of Telugu cinema, I have had the privilege to witness the meteoric rise of Nani, the Natural Star, whose talent and dedication never cease to amaze me. His latest venture, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, promises an intriguing tale that echoes his unwavering commitment to experimentation and pushing the boundaries in storytelling.

Nani is preparing for the upcoming movie “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram,” set to premiere on August 29, 2024. With promotional activities picking up speed, he recently shared memories from the film “Ante Sundraniki” in an interview with Galatta Plus.

Speaking about the movie and its contrasting reviews, the Charismatic Actor remarked, “The audience anticipated a light-hearted film from me, but we presented a thoughtful drama instead. Director Vivek stuck to his word in creating the film as he described, so he isn’t responsible for our movie’s underperformance. I need to take responsibility for not managing expectations properly.”

Furthermore, the actor also mentioned that for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, they’ve taken care to rectify an error. In the same conversation, Nani praised director Vivek Athreya by stating, “I truly believe Vivek is the most talented screenwriter in our field.”

On the very same night that Ante Sundaraniki was released, I too shared this fact. I distinctly recall inviting him over to my place. I offered him a drink, and he inquired about the evening’s shows. In response, I merely said, “It doesn’t matter at the moment, for we are here celebrating India’s exceptional screenplay writer.”

Additionally, Nani mentioned that, much like the current situation, he too contacted the director of Tuck Jagadish post its OTT release.

Regarding the actor’s next project, it’s worth noting that “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram” will be his second collaboration with director Vivek Athreya. The movie’s trailer suggests a narrative about a police officer who, rather unusually, is seen causing trouble for people and appearing quite villainous in his actions.

Yet, the story undergoes a captivating shift when he encounters Surya, a man exhibiting a dual identity. On days ranging from Sunday to Friday, he maintains a collected demeanor, managing his anger without losing control, yet he meticulously jots down names of individuals he intends to retaliate against.

Every Saturday, I transform into an unrelenting vigilante, leaving no stone unturned until my adversaries are brought to justice. I track them relentlessly, pursuing them to the very edge, prepared to go to any length. Apart from Nani, this movie boasts a star-studded cast that includes SJ Suryah, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Aditi Balan, Sai Kumar, and several others in pivotal roles.
