Fans have been eagerly awaiting Mahesh Babu’s upcoming movie, SSMB29, but they’re also celebrating the 19-year anniversary of his classic film “Pokiri,” which premiered back in 2006.
Instead of filling up social media with affectionate comments about the action drama, it’s now Namrata Shirodkar, Mahesh’s wife, who has specifically acknowledged the film with a special mention.
On her Instagram stories, Namrata Shirodkar posted an unusual photo of Mahesh Babu from the Pokiri set. Since the wife of the star found herself reminiscing about the legendary film, she wrote, “Pandugadu remains timeless @urstrulymahesh.

For the unversed, Pokiri was directed by Puri Jagannadh and was released on April 28, 2006.
Remarkably, the movie turned out to be a hit, prompting its Tamil remake titled the same, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the principal role. The Hindi adaptation of this film was named Wanted and featured Salman Khan playing the main character.
Speaking of Mahesh Babu again, he’s currently deep into preparations and is quite busy filming his major production, SSMB29, under the direction of SS Rajamouli. He’s sporting a rough, unshaven appearance with a full beard and has significantly built up his body for this role.
The movie is currently being filmed at various locations throughout India, with several key scenes already wrapped up. Most recently, filming took place in Odisha, where there were unexpected leaks from the set.
On the other hand, the creators swiftly addressed the issue by implementing strict privacy measures to prevent any additional leaks. The film features notable actors like Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in significant roles.
According to numerous sources, the movie will likely come out some time next year. The creators have not officially announced the title for SSMB29.
