On February 7th, Naga Chaitanya’s movie “Thandel” premiered in theatres and received generally favorable feedback from viewers. The film has been doing exceptionally well at the box office, exhibiting little indication of slowing down.
At a recent gathering celebrating the movie’s success, director Chandoo Mondeti shared his intentions for creating a period/historical drama featuring Naga Chaitanya, focusing on the life story of Tenali Ramakrishna.
Since the announcement of the news, there’s been a lot of buzz among fans and movie enthusiasts, as the project could mark Naga Chaitanya’s debut in the realm of period dramas and historical films.
In this upcoming movie, titled yet undetermined, Naga Chaitanya and director Chandoo Mondeti are set to join forces for their fourth project together, following their previous collaborations on Premam, Savyasachi, and the recent release, Thandel.
Tenali Ramakrishna, a name unknown to some, was an accomplished Telugu poet, intellectual, and advisor at King Krishna Devaraya’s court. What truly sets him apart is his exceptional wit and humor, which left many in awe. Even today, centuries later, the tales of Tenali Raman continue to captivate us.
While Chandoo Mondeti has unveiled the project, it’s essential to emphasize that the details are still under negotiation and there hasn’t been an official green light yet. However, if everything falls into place, it would be intriguing to witness Naga Chaitanya embody the role of the renowned character, Tenali Raman.
Prior to that, it’s important to note that Chandoo Mondeti hasn’t completed his other obligations yet. Among these, the top priority is working on the third installment of the Karthikeya series starring Nikhil Siddhartha.
At present, Naga Chaitanya is basking in the triumph of his romance drama titled Thandel. This movie, scripted and helmed by Chandoo Mondeti, narrates a true account about a band of fishermen hailing from Srikakulam who were detained by Pakistani troops in international waters.
In addition, this project marks the third time Naga Chaitanya has worked with director Chandoo Mondeti, and it’s their second film together since the box office hit “Love Story.” As of now, “Thandel” is enjoying a successful run in cinemas across the globe.
