Naga Chaitanya starrer Thandel producer claims their press meet to address piracy made it go viral

The film starring Naga Chaitanya titled “Thandel” hit the big screens on February 7, 2025. However, it unfortunately became victim to piracy shortly after its release. In response to this problem, the movie’s creators held a press conference to discuss the matter.

Nonetheless, film producer Bunny Vas admits that his anti-piracy press conference might have had an unexpected consequence. He clarified that conducting the event during the movie’s theater run may have been a misstep, as it unintentionally helped spread the pirated version of the film.

As per a report from Aakashavni, many viewers didn’t realize that the movie had fallen victim to piracy until the press conference took place. Bunny Vas lamented over the fact that it was only after their official announcement that the pirated version began to circulate widely.

Discussing the movie titled “Thandel,” helmed by Chandoo Mondeti, weaves a tale of romance, action, and suspense. It narrates the adventure of a fisherman who unintentionally ventures into Pakistan and his arduous quest to make it back home.

The film is drawn from the true account of fisherman Chodipilli Musalayya, who found himself imprisoned for several years following an unintentional border crossing into Pakistan. Arrested in 2000, he regained freedom in 2002 and returned to his vocation as a fisherman.

Alongside him, we have Sai Pallavi, Prakash Belawadi, Divya Pillai, Rao Ramesh, Karunakaran, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Kalpa Latha, and several other talented actors gracing our screens in significant roles.
