For a while now, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita have been making news due to their public engagement. These two actors, who were already in a long-term romantic relationship, officially became engaged on the 8th of August, 2024.

The engagement ceremony of the pair unfolded in an extremely private setting at Naga Chaitanya’s residence in Hyderabad, attended only by close family. Later, his father, Nagarjuna Akkineni, announced the event through a shared image from the occasion.

Moving forward, Naga Chaitanya found himself embroiled in a recent dispute when Telangana Minister Konda Surekha accused him of divorcing his ex-wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu under the influence of BRS working president, KTR. For those not familiar with the situation, the minister made controversial statements regarding their divorce and this accusation.

On the other hand, the assertions put forth by the minister faced strong criticism from the Telugu film industry, with prominent figures like Nagarjuna Akkineni, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Naga Chaitanya expressing their disapproval through public statements.

In response to the King actor’s lawsuit against the minister alleging defamation due to damage to his and his family’s reputation, Samantha has requested that her name and private affairs be excluded from political discussions.

Additionally, regarding Naga Chaitanya’s career, he is currently engaged in the production of his upcoming film titled Thandel. This movie, set in the Srikakulam district, presents him as a character from the fishermen community. Chandoo Mondeti directs this project, and Sai Pallavi is cast as the leading lady, which makes it their second collaboration with Naga Chaitanya in a film.
