My Vampire Plus-One is a delightful paranormal romp

As a seasoned gamer of both the book and romance worlds, I can confidently say that Jenna Levine has once again cast a spell over us with her enchanting tale, “My Vampire Plus-One“. Having been an avid reader of the paranormal genre since my early days as a Dungeons & Dragons aficionado, I must admit that this book was a refreshing twist on the trope.

hey there fellow gamers! I’m super excited to announce that the brilliant mind behind “My Roommate is a Vampire”, Jenna Levine, is shaking things up again in the romance world. This time, it’s not just about sharing an apartment with a bloodthirsty creature; we’re stepping it up with a new adventure called “My Vampire Plus-One“. Can’t wait to embark on this thrilling journey together!

Reading “My Roommate is a Vampire” introduces you to the protagonist, Reginald. If you haven’t dived into this book yet, I must say, it’s high time you did! In truth, it’s recommended to start with the first book for a smoother reading experience in this one.

You might want to start with the first book because that’s where we get introduced to the main characters, including Reginald, and delve deeper into his background. However, the final decision is yours. Since it’s the spooky season, I strongly recommend giving it a try.

Speaking of which, I’m grateful to Berkley for providing me with an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of “My Vampire Plus-One”. This allowed me to delve into the book and express my opinions on it.

If you’ve been following the series “My Roommate is a Vampire,” I’m sure we can all concur that we’ve been eagerly anticipating Reginald’s book. He, being a notable side character, has sparked our curiosity, and Jenna Levine didn’t disappoint in satisfying that eagerness to read more about him. In this new installment, we meet Amelia Collins, an accountant who is deep into tax season and finding it rather challenging, especially with a demanding client on her hands.

The situation deteriorates further for her when she collides with an unusual-looking man, who surprisingly turns out to be Reginald. Despite the confusion, there’s no time for contemplation as she’s heading to a family dinner. To divert her family’s inquiries, she claims to have a boyfriend, but finds herself preoccupied with thoughts of Reginald.

The following day, she encounters Reginald once more, leading to a conversation and her inviting him as her date to her cousin’s wedding. From this point on, we witness the growth of their romance, which is delightful because they perfectly embody the “opposites-attract” dynamic in an entertaining manner.

As a gaming enthusiast, let me tell you, Jenna Levine truly nailed it! She crafted a romance that had me melting with sweetness while keeping me laughing out loud. I found myself eagerly anticipating Reginald’s next outfit or clever quip directed at Amelia’s father. The story also offered a delightful mix of tension and drama, as Amelia and Reginald navigated their misunderstandings. Watching their interactions unfold was nothing short of captivating.

Another aspect I found delightful was the open-ended nature of the book’s conclusion, hinting at potential sequels within the series. Although there’s no confirmation if Jenna Levine intends to write another book featuring that character, I am eagerly awaiting such a development. Come on, Jenna, make my day! (Well, not really, but I sure do hope for more books set in this fascinating universe.)
