Vigilantes is inspired by a manga series penned by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, set five years prior to the storyline of Kōhei Horikoshi’s initial manga series. This spin-off will be brought to life through animation by Japanese animation company Bones Inc.
This anime takes place in a world filled with individuals gifted with superpowers, where officially recognized heroes safeguard the populace from villains. The story revolves around Koichi Haimawari, an unlicensed young man who employs his abilities to help those in need.
In this animated adaptation, the story unfolds in a realm where many inhabitants possess abilities known as “quirks.” The protagonist is Izuku Midoriya, also known by his nickname Deku, who is quirkless yet courageous. Remarkably, he’s selected to inherit One-For-All, a powerful quirk previously wielded by the hero, All Might. The narrative follows Deku’s path as he strives to become the top hero while confronting dangerous adversaries such as the League of Villains and All Might’s arch-nemesis, All-For-One.
In My Hero Academia, the characters are voiced by Daiki Yamashita (Deku), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Bakugo/Dynamight), Yuki Kaji (Shoto Todoroki), Ayane Sakura (Uravity), Kaito Ishikawa (Ingenium), Marina Inoue (Creati), Toshiki Masuda (Red Riot), Eri Kitamura (Pinky), Aoi Yūki (Froppy), Ryō Hirohashi (Grape Juice), Tasuku Hatanaka (Chargebolt), Yoshimasa Hosoya (Tsukuyomi), Kei Shindō (Earphone Jack), Kiyotaka Furushima (Cellophane), Kenta Miyake (All Might), Tetsu Inada (Endeavor), and a host of other talented voice actors.
