Multiple Halo games in development from rebranded studio, new engine confirmed

As a long-time Halo enthusiast who’s been through countless Spartan Ops since the days of Halo 3, this news of a “new dawn” for the franchise has me more excited than a Spartan on a Covenant ship. The rebranding of 343 Industries to Halo Studios and their ambitious Project Foundry have me eagerly awaiting the return of Master Chief to rule supreme once more.

At the Halo World Championship event, developers at 343 Industries took everyone by surprise with a revealing presentation. In this presentation, they unveiled a refreshed identity not just for themselves, but also for the entire Halo series, referring to it as a symbol of a “new beginning” or “new day”.

Will Master Chief ever rule supreme again?

343 Industries has undergone a transformation and is now known as “Halo Studios.” They aim to revitalize the Halo series by developing several new games, which they refer to as “Project Foundry,” an ambitious endeavor.

However, it’s important to keep your anticipation in check for now. The new Halo games are currently just ideas being developed, still in their early stages. As of now, the only thing we know for sure is that they will be created using Unreal Engine 5, which seems to be the popular choice for many modern games.

In the presentation, studio head Pierre Hintze said:

Now, I think we have an audience which is hungry for more. So we’re not just going to try to improve the efficiency of development, but change the recipe of how we make Halo games. So, we start a new chapter today.

We’re unsure about the direction of the upcoming chapter, yet we truly hope it brings Halo to its former glory, reminiscent of the Halo 3 era.

Regrettably, the recent video unveiling didn’t offer a lot of details on the forthcoming games, yet we eagerly look forward to learning more.
