Disney has revealed the upcoming digital, 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD launch dates for “Mufasa: The Lion King,” their latest musical prequel directed by renowned filmmaker Barry Jenkins. Following the movie’s theatrical premiere more than a month ago, these release details have been announced.
The movie delves into the unexpected rise of a cherished king from the Pride Lands, narrated by Rafiki. In this tale, he shares with young lioness Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, a legend that unfolds as a series of flashbacks. Alongside their unique humor, Timon and Pumbaa contribute to the story. The narrative begins by introducing Mufasa as an abandoned cub, who eventually meets a kind-hearted lion named Taka, heir to a royal lineage. This fateful encounter sparks an incredible adventure for an eclectic band of outcasts, their friendship tested as they navigate perilous obstacles to avoid a menacing and deadly adversary.
When is the Mufasa: The Lion King digital, 4K, Blu-ray, & DVD release dates?
Starting from February 18, you can rent or purchase The Lion King digitally. Later, on April 1, it will be released for purchase in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats. Notably, the 4K UHD edition will also come in a special limited edition SteelBook with unique artwork and packaging.
