Actor Aramis Knight, known for playing Kareem/Red Dagger in Disney+’s and MCU’s series Ms. Marvel, expressed doubts about a Season 2 during a recent interview. At just 25 years old, Knight is set to debut his latest film, Karate Kid: Legends, in US theaters tomorrow. In the discussion, he shared insights on the potential future of Kareem and Ms. Marvel.
Aramis Knight talks Ms. Marvel Season 2 possibilities in MCU
In a recent chat with Screen Rant, Knight hinted that we might have already seen the final appearance of Red Dagger, although he fervently wishes otherwise. Additionally, he expressed his doubts about Ms. Marvel making a comeback for her second season.
Knight replied, ‘I’m not entirely certain.’ He continued, ‘To be honest, it’s been quite some time, so my memory might be a bit hazy. I genuinely wanted to, but unfortunately, things didn’t pan out as planned due to various reasons such as logistics, COVID-related issues, and perhaps creative differences. However, that show was fantastic, but I must admit, I’m still hoping for an invitation.’
In response to being told that Iman Vellani’s character, Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, is now inviting members for the Young Avengers, Knight said, “Without a doubt, her number is saved in my quick-dial list.
Ms. Marvel, portrayed by Iman Vellani, premiered on Disney+ on June 8, 2022, and ran for six episodes until July 13, 2022. Subsequently, Vellani appeared in the 2023 MCU film The Marvels. Notably, the recruitment of the Young Avengers is set at the end of this movie, during which Kamala meets Hailee Steinfeld’s character, Kate Bishop.
Talk about the possibility of a second season has been ongoing for some time now. In an interview for The Playlist’s The Discourse podcast in September 2023, one of the show’s co-directors, Adil El Arbi, revealed that the progress on Season 2 was put on pause until the release of The Marvels film. Unfortunately, The Marvels didn’t perform as well as expected at the box office.
