As an ardent fan of Ravi Teja, I’ve been through the rollercoaster ride that is his career, and this latest turn of events with Mr. Bachchan has certainly been a whirlwind! It’s heartening to see such dedication from our heroes, as they are willing to shoulder losses for their craft. The fact that Mr. Bachchan, despite its box office failure, will grace our screens on Netflix, gives me a glimmer of hope.
The highly anticipated movie featuring Ravi Teja, colloquially known as Mr Bachchan, generated significant buzz before its premiere on August 15, 2024. Regrettably, despite diligent work, the film underperformed at the box office and failed to meet fan expectations. In recent reports, it seems that the Mass Maharaja has chosen to forgo his earnings from this project. Consequently, the film is now set to debut on a prominent streaming platform online.
It’s been announced that the makers of Mr. Bachchan have scheduled its release on Netflix, the popular streaming platform. A formal post has been made on Twitter (now X) to confirm the highly anticipated project’s launch, and it’s set for September 12, 2024. The movie will be accessible in four languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Previously, a report from Hindustan Times suggested that actor Ravi Teja and director Harish Shankar may have returned their earnings for a film to offset its financial losses at the box office. If true, it is claimed that Ravi Teja has given back approximately 4 crore rupees, while Harish Shankar has reportedly returned around 2 crore rupees.
The report added that neither Ravi Teja nor Harish Shankar were requested to refund their fees, but instead chose on their own accord to do so.
For those unfamiliar, the movie “Mr Bachchan” was produced under People Media Factory and is loosely based on a true event – an income tax raid on Indian businessman Sardar Inder Singh. Notably, it’s a Telugu adaptation of the Hindi film “Raid,” featuring Ajay Devgn in the lead role.
In the ensemble of Mr Bachchan, you’ll find several well-known actors like Jagapathi Babu, Bhagyashri Borshe, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Satya, Sachin Khedekar, among others.
As a lifestyle expert looking back at August 2024, I remember the buzz surrounding the rumors that Ravi Teja had been injured during filming for RT75 (tentative title). The news spread like wildfire among his countless fans who were understandably worried about his health. However, our beloved star alleviated everyone’s concerns by sharing an update on his condition via X.
After a seamless operation, Ravi confirmed he was in good health and had made a full recovery following the accident upon being released from the hospital. He also stressed that he planned to get back to work on his film sets shortly.
On the work front, he has two projects, Kohinoor and RT75, in the pipeline.
