As a seasoned movie critic with over three decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of cinematic masterpieces and flops alike. But when it comes to “Wicked“, I must confess that I found myself utterly bewitched by this enchanting adaptation from the beloved Broadway musical.
Reflecting on the upcoming film “Wicked,” having been based on the enduring Broadway musical, I observed that with decades of dedication, intricate sets, captivating costumes, enchanting music, and a substantial budget spread across two movies (with Wicked 2 set for release in November 2025), it seems almost inconceivable that any critique could be negative given the magnitude of effort poured into this production. My prediction is that Wicked will secure one of the coveted Best Picture nominations this year, making it exceptionally rare among musicals to have been recognized in Oscar history.
