As she grapples with grief and rage, there are several flashback sequences featuring Bill Murray towards the film’s end, illuminating the profound bond between Iris and Walter – their friendship.

In my opinion, the conclusion was skillfully crafted, portraying Iris’s predicament as she desperately sought a way to keep her cherished pet dog, despite the landlord demanding its removal.
The Rotten Tomatoes score for “The Friend” stands at a commendable 86%, while my personal assessment leans towards 80%. However, the film’s overall runtime feels somewhat prolonged, given its relatively straightforward narrative.
