Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Studios’ TV division, has shared insights about potential developments for Moon Knight‘s second season and the possibility of Oscar Isaac reprising his role as the beloved title character. The first season of this Marvel production premiered on Disney+ from March 30 to May 4, 2022, spanning a total of six episodes. This series garnered exceptional praise from both fans and critics upon its release.
Moon Knight Season 2 may not happen, but Oscar Isaac could still return
Recently, the head of Marvel Television and Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, discussed the possibility of a second season for Moon Knight.
During a conversation about the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series with ComicBook.com, Winderbaum mentioned that Moon Knight may not get a second season. He explained that Season 1 was designed to introduce characters who will be connected to the future.
Winderbaum mentioned, “Moving ahead, our focus has changed. We’re producing series intended for annual releases, similar to television. I’d be thrilled about a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are future plans for Moon Knight in store.
Among the beloved characters introduced in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight ranks high. Despite fan enthusiasm for a second season of the 2022 series, it appears quite improbable that such a sequel will materialize.
According to SuperHeroHype, back in February 2024, the actor expressed his eagerness to reprise his role as Moon Knight for a Midnight Suns project. During a Comic-Con event in Abu Dhabi, Isaac mentioned that the Midnight Suns project could provide an intriguing chance to depict Moon Knight as part of a team and investigate how that dynamic would play out. He further expressed hope that there might be an opportunity to delve into this possibility. Moreover, he stated that this project would be thrilling for him.
