As a devoted fan of Ryan Murphy’s captivating storytelling and his knack for revisiting intriguing true crimes, I am absolutely thrilled by the prospect of Monsters Season 2 bonus episodes focusing on the Menendez brothers’ saga! With my extensive binge-watching history under my belt, I can confidently say that this potential extension to the series would make for an unparalleled viewing experience.
According to series creator Ryan Murphy, there might be extra episodes for Season 2 of Monsters, as the story of The Lyle and Erik Menendez hasn’t concluded completely.
The Netflix show, called “Monsters: The Menendez Brothers’ True Story,” delves into the notorious case involving the real brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were found guilty of killing their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez.
What did Ryan Murphy say about the possible Monsters Season 2 bonus episodes?
During a conversation with Variety, the TV show’s producer expressed surprise along with his fellow creator of Monsters Season 2, Ian Brennan, as they found that the program has sparked renewed curiosity surrounding the Menendez brothers case. Remarkably, he noted that this topic was seemingly overlooked by many beforehand.
Ian and I are genuinely astounded and flabbergasted that this has transpired, to put it frankly. As we were penning ‘The Menendez Story,’ a project we’ve been diligently working on for two years, no one was discussing the Menendez brothers. Frankly, we never imagined anyone would bring them up again.
Later on, Murphy hinted that he might produce extra episodes for the second season of Monsters, should the brothers be freed.
Murphy mentioned that the topic has indeed been brought up. It’s intriguing for everyone and there seems to be a shared curiosity about how this story unfolds, as it doesn’t appear to have reached its conclusion yet.
This show features Cooper Koch portraying the character Erik, Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Lyle, Javier Bardem in the role of José, Chloë Sevigny as Kitty, Ari Graynor as Leslie Abramson, Nathan Lane as Dominick Dunne, and many others. It’s a sequel to Murphy’s 2022 series titled “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” (paraphrased)
Monsters Season 2 is the newest installment in the successful television producer’s lineup of popular shows for this year, which also includes Grotesquerie, American Horror Story: Gentle, Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, American Horror Anthology, 911, American Sports Drama: Aaron Hernandez, and Doctor Odyssey.
The second season of “Monsters” became accessible for streaming on Netflix starting from September 19, 2024. A total of nine episodes have been made available on the service.
