Lately, feedback from Monster Hunter Wilds users on Steam has noticeably dropped due to persistent issues with the game’s unstable performance on PC platforms.
As a gamer, I recently hopped over to the Steam page for Capcom’s leather-gathering sim, expecting a delightful gaming experience. However, peeking at the last month’s reviews, it seems like more than 6,000 gamers have shared their thoughts – and a staggering 75% of them weren’t impressed! The recent influx of opinions has pushed the game into the ‘Mostly Negative’ category, while its overall rating remains ‘Mixed’, based on over 136,000 reviews, with only about 61% expressing positivity.
As you continue to scroll through the crimson-hued review section, it becomes apparent that numerous individuals have been grappling with maintaining a smooth, reliable frame rate when playing Monster Hunter Wilds, even several months post-launch. Remarkably, some gamers assert that a recent update exacerbated the issue.
As an enthusiastic gamer, I was excited to dive into the latest Akuma event, but unfortunately, the changes made to enhance the game have left me in a bind. Now, I struggle to maintain more than 15 frames per second when I effortlessly managed 60 at launch. It’s like watching a slideshow, and it’s just not fun for me anymore. To put it bluntly, the performance is poor, as some users have humorously described it – “poo poo performance.
On Reddit, many players generally share a common viewpoint: Monster Hunter Worlds seems poorly optimized for most computer setups, and so far, Capcom has not taken significant steps to address these concerns.
The player suggests that the current situation might be more problematic due to the recent update causing compatibility issues with many PCs (which can often be resolved by clearing and recompiling the shader cache). However, it’s worth noting that for many users, this update has actually boosted performance, as reported by me and others. This observation is based on personal experiences rather than hard data.
