Even though Monster Hunter Rampage hasn’t been released globally yet, game developer Capcom is already hinting at future content in the game’s initial post-release update.
Title Update 1 for “Monster Hunter Wilds” is scheduled for release in early April, as confirmed by Capcom today. This means players have approximately one month left to fully explore the base game, such as completing the storyline, reaching the High Rank level, and conquering the monsters it contains.
In the upcoming update, the game is set to add a higher degree of complexity with the inclusion of a “powerful beast” that surpasses the strength of the Tempered monsters. This will significantly increase the level of challenge, providing more challenging battles compared to those offered at the initial release.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming update, which promises a social space reminiscent of the Gathering Hub in Monster Hunter World. This “communal area,” as Capcom described it, seems to be an exciting new spot where we can mingle, exchange ideas, dine together, and engage in more activities with fellow hunters!
In the realm of Monster Hunter World, the Gathering Hub served as a communal space where up to 16 players could convene before embarking on quests together, share meals prior to their adventures, engage in mini-games such as arm wrestling, or simply relax with their Palico companions in a hot tub. It remains uncertain whether the upcoming hub will maintain this functionality or introduce something entirely novel.
Capcom didn’t mention whether the first update would feature Mizutsune, the initially announced monster for post-launch content. In both Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter Rise, updates with new monsters, quests, armor sets, and weapons derived from those monsters were regularly added as part of an ongoing service model, between the games’ initial releases and the launches of their additional content expansions, Iceborne and Firebreak.
Global release of “Monster Hunter Wilds” is set for tonight at 11 pm Central Time, following an early launch this morning at midnight on February 29th in New Zealand.
