Monster Hunter Wilds players have found a new way to dodge certain attacks flawlessly – using paid emotes to strike their best pose

It appears that while people generally dislike the concept of “pay-to-win” elements in video games, it’s been noted that Monster Hunter World includes certain paid emotes which can significantly boost your combat effectiveness.

As a gamer, I’ve discovered an exciting feature: in-game emotes! These can be purchased and used within the game’s photo mode, and some of them let me float effortlessly in mid-air. This means I can easily leap over and dodge those pesky low attacks without breaking a sweat!

According to Automaton’s report, a player cleverly bypassed a Mizutsune’s water beam attack with the Vanish Sign trick. Instead of evading or defending, this player opened their emote menu and assumed the specified pose, resulting in them floating above the attack without harm. This tactic could prove quite beneficial when encountering the newly-tempered Mizutsune variant.

Additionally, certain stances can aid in dodging assaults. The Shinobi stance enables you to leap into the air, while the This Can’t Be and Triumphant Knee Slide positions assist in moving you lower, thereby helping you dodge high-level attacks.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, although these elements can be considered pay-to-win, they serve as a testament to the exceptional precision of the game’s hitboxes. The next time you feel certain you’ve evaded an attack only to get hit, consider rethinking your assumptions.

If you’re interested in purchasing these emote packs, you’ll be happy to know they’re quite affordable! The Photo Pose Set Vol. 1, featuring the Vanish Sign, is only $4, and the Celebratory Knee Slide costs just $2. That’s a total of only $6 extra, but I can see why others might find it frustrating that they have to spend more to improve their chances against certain monsters.
