Monster Hunter Wilds Multiplayer: Etiquettes You Should Keep in Mind

Following these etiquette rules in Monster Hunter Wilds not only makes the multiplayer hunts smoother but also makes you a reliable hunter.

Monster Hunter Wilds, the latest installment of Capcom’s hit franchise, features various improvements and upgrades from the previous installments, making your monster-hunting journey more authentic and immersive than ever. Hunting the big bad monsters along with your friends is an exhilarating experience. Although the multiplayer system in Monster Hunter Wilds has not met the player’s expectations, it still remains a viable and enjoyable option.

However, there are certain etiquette rules you should keep in mind in Monster Hunter Wilds while participating in intense multiplayer hunts with other players. Even small mistakes hinder your teammates and make you an annoyance. This is especially crucial for novice players who are at their learning curve and striving to become better hunters in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Monster Hunter Wilds Multiplayer Etiquettes

Follow the Clear Call on Kill/Capture

While hunting the monsters serves as the primary goal, it branches into two possible outcomes—killing or capturing. Although both methods can complete a normal hunt, they yield different rewards and materials depending on the monster. Since the host may be targeting specific material, it is important to hear their shout-out call. Follow the host’s call on whether they aim to kill or capture the monster and support in the hunt accordingly.

Give the Wake-Up Hit Honour to the Right Teammate

The wake-up hit is one of the crucial aspects when hunting a monster. When a monster’s health falls below a threshold, it flees to another area and falls asleep to regain some health. This provides a great opportunity for the hunters, as the first hit on a sleeping monster will deal double the damage. Always let the teammate wielding a high-damage weapon—such as Great Sword, Hammer, or Heavy Bowgun— deliver the wake-up hit.

Additionally, some players may intentionally put monsters to sleep during a hunt with items like sleep bombs and sleep ammo. In such cases, avoid attacking recklessly and wasting combos, as it may accidentally wake up the monster, wasting the damage boost.

Utilize the Weapon’s Weak Spots Properly

Picking the right weapon is the first step to becoming a better hunter. Each weapon has unique playstyles and damage stats. Additionally, each weapon excels at attacking certain parts of the monster. For example, a hammer is an ideal choice for dealing damage to a monster’s head.

Monsters have specific vulnerabilities to either blunt, sever, or shot damage. So, focus on the monster part and use the appropriate attack type to deal the maximum damage. These damage stats can be checked from the large monster field guide.

Support the Hunt As Much as You Can

When joining a hunt, your primary role is to assist as much as possible. Standing idle or engaging in unrelated activities instead of helping is worse. Playing carelessly and fainting repeatedly can bring the team closer to failure.

Be sure to equip skills like Shock Absorber and Flinch Free. They can enhance the multiplayer hunt by reducing the knockback, tripping, or damage reaction when you or your teammates make contact with each other.

1. Keep essential items like Lifepowder and Dust of Life handy.

2. Utilize these items when a team member is severely injured, as they heal anyone within a certain area.
