Experiencing a familiar issue? Once you finalize your character’s visual design within Monster Hunter Wilds, there’s often a slight mismatch between your mental image and the in-game representation. Thankfully, Monster Hunter Wilds acknowledges this challenge you face.
There’s nothing stopping you from modifying your character’s look if you’re not satisfied with it. Remember, you’ll spend a significant amount of time observing your Hunter’s visage, whether in scenes or while playing, so why not make it pleasing to your eye?
Here, I’ll demonstrate steps for customizing your character’s visual style according to your preference, along with disclosing the associated price points for these changes within Monster Hunter World.
How to edit your character
You can modify your character’s look by stepping into a tent, moving to the ‘Character Appearance’ section on the menu, and choosing the ‘Modify Appearance’ option.
Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of the process:
- Enter your tent, either inside base or in a Pop-up camp
- Select the icon with the head on the far right: the Appearance Menu.
- Select the first option: Change Appearance
After this, you’ll be returned to the character customization menu, where you have full freedom to adjust every detail of your Hunter or Palico according to your preferences.
Changing appearance cost
In both the beta phases of Monster Hunter World, modifying your character’s look didn’t require any in-game currency or special passes, a policy that carried over when we played prior to its official launch as well.
In other words, Monster Hunter World (MHW) has verified through X that upon the game’s release, players will require either a Hunter Edit Voucher or a Palico Edit Voucher in order to make any adjustments.
Initially, there’s no cost; however, subsequent items will require a purchase. As an example, in Monster Hunter World, alteration vouchers for appearance cost approximately $2.99 each.
We’ll make sure to update you if this system proves long-lasting, or if Capcom decides to revert back to free changes following the launch. In the interim, feel free to explore the use of the transmog system and learn how to reveal your Hunter’s attractive face by hiding their helmet!
