Monster Hunter Wilds a Best-Seller in the UK as Series Continues Upwards Trajectory

Last week, Monster Hunter Rise emerged as the top-selling physical game in the UK. With its debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the franchise appears to be mirroring Capcom’s past success with Monster Hunter World. As the first significant Western breakthrough for the series, it looks like Rise is poised to outperform sales figures even more than before – and that’s not taking digital transactions into account yet.

In the UK, the performance of Monster Hunter Wilds on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S can be gauged through physical sales, but its PC version also showed remarkable results. On Steam, it reached a peak of 1.3 million concurrent players during the weekend, making it one of the most successful PC game launches to date. Our review of Monster Hunter Wilds for PS5 rates it as a 9/10, describing it as “an exceptional action RPG at its core, and a worthy successor to the legendary World.

In other parts of the UK last week, the golf simulator PGA Tour 2K25 made its entry in the top 10 at the third spot. The remaining positions were filled by the customary Nintendo Switch exclusives such as FIFA 25, Minecraft, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Here’s the latest top 10 in full, accounting for physical sales only.
