Mohanlal on romance in films: ‘Feel some kind of love towards the heroine’ – Throwback

Reflecting on yesteryears, let me take you back to when I was grilled about my feelings during those heartfelt romantic scenes. Being an experienced actor like Mohanlal, I always strive for honesty and transparency. This particular moment resonates with me as it coincides with the release of my movie alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, “Iruvar,” which was creating quite a buzz in town.

On Kairali TV, during a broadcasted show, actor Mukesh discussed his on-screen relationships with heroines alongside Mohanlal. Mohanlal noted that he had shared the screen with numerous leading actresses in various films. Mukesh then expressed that audiences frequently inquired about whether filming romantic scenes was enjoyable. He emphasized that it often went unnoticed by viewers that these romantic moments were captured amidst a large production crew and many onlookers.

Afterward, Mukesh mentioned that whenever he observed Mohanlal acting in romantic scenes, he noticed a true dedication in his performance. He confessed to being taken aback by how authentic the actor seemed during those instances. Intrigued, Mukesh inquired if the Drishyam actor had ever developed genuine feelings for any of his co-actresses while filming.

In response to the question, Mohanlal expressed that love is an incredibly beautiful feeling. To put it straightforwardly, he mentioned that we all have love within us for everyone at every moment in time. However, we only express this love toward a select group of individuals. During filming of romantic scenes, he explained, there’s often a sense of affection towards the female lead actress, which is something that naturally occurs.

In simpler terms, Thudarum star revealed that the affection he felt towards his on-screen heroines didn’t persist for long. He clarified that the emotional tie would usually dissipate once the filming of the song scenes was done. Later, Mohanlal added that this bond was only present during filming and did not extend beyond that.

Speaking about my professional endeavors, I’ve got an exciting lineup ahead with movies like MMMN, Hridayapoorvam, Drishyam 3, and L3: The Beginning, among others. At the moment, my film Thudarum is creating quite a stir at the box office, thanks to its brilliant direction by Tharun Moorthy. It’s been a huge success. Not to forget, my movie L2: Empuraan also received an outstanding response from the audience during its theater run.
