Mohanlal makes his first public appearance after stepping down as AMMA President; REACTS to Hema Committee report

As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for the arts and a keen eye for industry dynamics, I find Mohanlal’s recent public appearance at the Kerala Cricket League to be both poignant and commendable. His decision to step down from his position as AMMA president was not just a political move but a call for introspection within the Malayalam film fraternity, an industry he has graced with his presence for decades.

At the debut of the Kerala Cricket League, Mohanlal made his initial public outing following his resignation as president of AMMA, dressed smartly in a business suit. He attended and participated in the opening ceremony alongside esteemed attendees and fellow associates.

In addition, during his address at the gathering, the actor finally spoke up about the urgent issues surrounding the Malayalam film world. He also tackled incidents of violence and sexual misconduct against women within the industry. Mohanlal acknowledged that the entire Malayalam film community shares responsibility for these occurrences.

According to Mathrubhumi, Mohanlal stated, “The reason we’ve all stepped down from our positions in AMMA is that the entire Malayalam film industry needs to address the issues raised in the report. It’s not just one problem, but several, and you might be more aware of them than I am.”

Near the end of his statement, Mohanlal clarified the speculation about his resignation as AMMA president, alongside other members. He emphasized that this was a collective decision, made following legal counsel.

Mohanlal additionally stated that although he warmly accepts the recommendations of the Hema Committee, it’s essential to remember that the overall film industry and the AMMA specifically should not be criticized because they serve as the main livelihood for numerous individuals.
