Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph have confirmed they will work together again on the third part of the Drishyam series, with filming set to begin in September 2025. The specifics about production remain undisclosed at this time.
According to a report from Cinema For You, it appears that the actor and director may delay the shoot of their long-awaited project, Ram, again. Instead, they might decide to start working on Drishyam 3, as their schedules seem to be freeing up for it.
Although specifics about the film are still unclear, it hasn’t been officially confirmed that it will be produced yet.
If you’re not familiar, Drishyam is a 2013 suspenseful crime movie helmed by Jeethu Joseph. It follows the life of Georgekutty, a doting father who resides with his spouse and two kids.
Instead of unexpected twists, it’s revealed that the man and his family are being investigated in connection with Varun Prabhakar’s disappearance. The remainder of the movie then follows Georgekutty as he navigates avoiding the police and shielding his loved ones from any potential danger.
2021 saw the release of a follow-up to the movie called “Drishyam 2: The Continuation.” In this new chapter, Mohanlal and the entire cast returned to their characters. This second part garnered extensive acclaim after it was premiered exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
For a number of years now, these movies have undergone re-creations in various languages. In the Bollywood adaptation, Ajay Devgn plays the main character.
It’s worth noting that the renowned Bollywood star is planning to return to the silver screen as part of the Drishyam series’ third installment. According to an exclusive report on TopMob, the actor will collaborate once more with director Abhishek Pathak for this sequel and commence filming in August 2025.
On the professional side of Mohanlal, the esteemed actor recently appeared as the lead character in the crime drama film “Thudarum,” directed by Tharun Moorthy. This movie tells the story of a father seeking retribution against those who were responsible for his son’s demise.
In the time to come, the actor will appear next in the heartwarming production titled Hridayapoorvam, helmed by Sathyan Anthikad. Malavika Mohanan joins him as a co-star in this project. Notably, he also has projects like Vrusshabha and MMMN lined up for release.
