Modders behind Skyrim’s co-op are now bringing a Dark Souls-style “social mod” to Oblivion Remastered

Previously, the Skyrim Together group integrated multiplayer into the expansive RPG game. Now, they are focusing on creating a “community modification” for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, infusing it with a hint of Dark Souls’ style and atmosphere.

Messages from other players seem like drifting rocks,” allowing you to guide fellow adventurers towards a cleverly concealed cavern or playfully mislead them with tales of hidden treasure at the edge of a precipice, much like the subtle trickery found in Souls-inspired games.

On Discord, the Skyrim Together team expressed that their project is driven by a deep-seated enthusiasm for multiplayer mods. They also draw attention to the resemblance of their “social mod” to the messaging system you might encounter in Souls games.

In a related development, Bethesda has once again acknowledged the dedicated team of modders who have been re-creating The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion within The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim over the past 12 years with their statement: “Though I was involved in the development of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, I remain thrilled about Skyblivion.
