She hinted at a “totally new adventure” for Moana in the upcoming sequel, reflecting on her personal connection to the iconic character as she grows older. Additionally, Cravalho shared her involvement not only as the voice of Moana but also as an executive producer for Disney’s highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the 2016 animated film.
“Cravalho shared with People, ‘She’s advancing. She’s going beyond her limits now, even beyond the reef.’ The recording studio is where she feels at home and is thankful to explore this familiar character while taking her on an entirely new path.”
David G. Derrick Jr. serves as the director and writer for Moana 2’s production. The star-studded voice cast includes Auliʻi Cravalho returning as Moana, along with Johnson reprising his role as Maui.
