As a gamer who has been around for quite some time, I can vividly remember the magic that Disney’s Moana brought to our screens back then. Fast forward a few years, and I’m thrilled beyond words as Moana is set to embark on another adventure! The ocean calls, and I’m ready to join her, three years after the events of the first movie.


Once more, the sea sings its enchanting tune, stirring excitement among fans as they eagerly await Moana’s return to adventure! Officially verified, Moana 2 is set to continue her captivating voyage as our beloved navigator.

Three years following the initial storyline, Moana embarks on a fresh journey that carries her well beyond the shores of her native island, Motunui. On this occasion, her ancestors have summoned her to delve into the unexplored, potentially perilous waters spread across Oceania.

Moana 2: Release Date

In all likelihood, Moana 2 is set for a cinema release on November 27, 2024. After a stint at the movie theater, we anticipate that this movie will be available for streaming on Disney+ around early 2025.

Moana 2: What the Plot is about

From the previews we can see that Moana and Maui are summoned by their ancestors to lift the curse on the secluded island of Motufetu, which was once a unifying force for the ocean’s inhabitants. In their journey, they encounter both familiar adversaries like the Kakamora as well as new threats such as the underworld goddess Matangi.

Get ready for a heartwarming reunion with our cherished Polynesian princess, who will once again lend her voice by Auliʻi Cravalho. Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson is gearing up to play the mighty demigod, Maui.

In the trailer, it is revealed that Moana’s younger sister Simea will be portrayed by Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda. Additionally, the original cast members will reprise their roles: Temuera Morrison as Moana’s father Chief Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Moana’s mother Sina, and Rachel House as Moana’s grandmother Tala.

And not to forget, Alan Tudyk will be back to cover his role as the greatest chicken of all time, Hei Hei.
