As a fan who has been enchanted by the magical world of Moana since its debut, I eagerly anticipate the release of Moana 2 this November. Having grown up sailing the vast oceans with Moana and Maui, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia coupled with excitement for this upcoming adventure.
Moana 2 is currently tracking to have a huge opening weekend at the box office.
In November of this year, a new movie titled Moana 2 will hit theaters across the United States. This sequel follows the original Moana that was released in 2016. The film is directed by the trio consisting of David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ldeoux Miller.
By the scheduled premiere on November 27, 2024 (Wednesday), Moana is anticipating earnings exceeding $100 million in its first five days in theaters. At present, estimates predict that it will earn between $75 and $82 million during the weekend segment of those five days (Friday through Sunday).
According to Deadline’s reports, Moana 2 might break the record for the highest box office debut on a Wednesday before Thanksgiving. At present, the record is held by Frozen (2013), which earned approximately $93.5 million during its first five-day weekend at the box office.
In contrast, the first Moana earned close to $82 million in its initial five days at the box office. Eventually, it brought in around $249 million within U.S. borders and an additional $394 million overseas, resulting in a global total of about $643 million.
