The return of Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui is like a warm, island breeze on a sunny day.

Disney has recently unveiled a fresh snippet from the upcoming “Moana 2” animation, featuring a sneak peek at one of its notable songs. This highly anticipated sequel is set to hit theaters on November 27, 2024.

What happens in the new Moana 2 clip?

The video offers a short sneak peek of Auliʻi Cravalho’s performance singing the main theme song for the upcoming sequel called “Beyond.” This tune was penned by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear. Apart from Auliʻi, the voice actors in this production include Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Temuera Morrison as Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Rose Matafeo as Loto, David Fane as Kele, Rachel House as Tala, Alan Tudyk as Heihei, Awhimai Fraser as Matangi, and many others.

The movie brings Moana and Maui together three years later for a grand sea voyage with an assortment of unconventional sailors. This synopsis reveals that Moana embarks on a unique journey, prompted by a mysterious call from her navigating ancestors, into the vast, perilous waters of Oceania.

As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the sequel to Moana is steered by the talented trio of David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, with the screenplay being jointly penned by Miller and Jared Bush. This new team takes over from the original directors Ron Clements and John Musker. The first film was not just a financial triumph, raking in over $600 million, but also garnered critical acclaim, receiving two Oscar nominations for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
