MLB The Show 25 launches in March and will skip last-gen consoles and Xbox Game Pass

San Diego Studio has unveiled MLB The Show 25, the upcoming edition of their baseball simulation game series. Notably, this version will not be released for last-generation consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One). Instead, it’s scheduled to launch on March 18.

In a blog post on PlayStation, we were given our initial glimpse into the upcoming MLB The Show 25, with the main focus being on its three cover personalities. Elly De la Cruz from the Cincinnati Reds, Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Gunnar Henderson representing the Baltimore Orioles are the ones who will be seen on the cover. This is a first for the series as it has never before showcased multiple players together on a single cover.

In 2025, it’s been confirmed that MLB The Show 25 won’t be accessible through Xbox Game Pass or any other platform subscription services. Previous installments of this series have typically been available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, which is unusual for a Sony-published game. However, starting this year, players will need to purchase the game outright to play it, rather than having access through a subscription.

MLB The Show 2025 will be released on March 18, 2025, and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. Keep an eye out for more updates on this exciting game right here at Shacknews.
