Mission: Yozakura Family episode 18 recap

In Episode 18, I’m put through my paces by Shinzo as he teaches me how to master my freshly acquired powers. But man, it ain’t easy; I keep getting beat by old Shinzo. Just when things are getting tough, Kyoichiro steps in and reminds us that a Yozakura’s true strength isn’t just about the power we wield, but also why we use it. Unfortunately, our chat is interrupted by Mutsumi who excitedly shares she’s scored tickets to a swanky resort!

Despite the rest of the family looking forward to the trip, Kyoichiro feels troubled as he can’t join due to his ongoing mission. He contemplates canceling it, but Mutsumi persuades him to go and perform well instead. Before departing, he cautions Taiyo against any thoughts of bathing with Mutsumi. As they reach the resort, they are met with hostile glares from a mob boss Kyoichiro had previously encountered. He attempts to assault them, prompting Taiyo to quickly intervene for their defense.

Initially, the family enjoys themselves, but their peaceful time is interrupted when the hostess forbids fighting. Unfortunately, Futaba accidentally consumes alcohol and becomes violent. In a panic, Taiyo takes Mutsumi and they flee. Later, Futaba requests a shared bath, which Taiyo agrees to. During this moment, Mutsumi reveals her hidden scar and shares her harrowing past with Tanpopo attempting to kill her, her father forcing her to grant him powers, and the scar being located on her heart area.

In this scenario, Taiyo consoles her and suggests they search for their father. Simultaneously, Kyoichiro appears at the inn and heads to the dining room, where he encounters Futaba in a fit of rage. He subsequently finds Taiyo bathing with Mutsumi and lashes out at him. However, Futaba shields them, confronting her brother with a pillow instead. The entire hotel unites behind her, collectively assaulting Kyoichiro. The narrative concludes with Kyoichiro being overwhelmed by a mountain of pillows.
