If the reported budget is accurate, the upcoming Mission: Impossible movie could be the fourth most expensive film ever made, surpassed only by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ($416 million), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($432 million), and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($447 million).
Not only is this movie among the costliest ever made, its production budget implies that it needs to gross approximately $1 billion worldwide just to break even. This would also set a new record for the series, surpassing the previous highest earnings of $791 million, which were achieved by Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018.
