As a seasoned gamer with an extensive background in binge-watching mystery shows, I can hardly contain my excitement for Netflix’s upcoming release of “Missing You.” Harlan Coben has consistently delivered intriguing narratives that keep me on the edge of my seat, and this new series promises to be no exception.
Netflix has revealed the Missing You release date for the next mystery TV show from Harlan Coben.
What is Netflix’s Missing You release date?
As a die-hard fan of Harlan Coben’s gripping narratives, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I learned that the premiere date for “Missing You” is set for New Year’s Day in 2025. With the captivating storylines of his previous work, fans like myself can ring in the new year with a binge-worthy treat on Netflix. This highly anticipated series comes exactly one year after the release of his eighth Netflix series, “Fool Me Once,” which was unveiled on New Year’s Day in 2024. Countdown begins!
Over a decade ago, Detective Kat Donovan lost her beloved fiancé, Josh, without a trace. Since then, she’s been waiting for any sign of him. In a surprising turn of events, while swiping through profiles on a dating app, she comes across his face once more, sending shockwaves through her life all over again. The return of Josh will prompt Kat to delve back into the enigma surrounding her father’s murder and uncover secrets from her past that had been hidden for years.
In this show, Rosalind Eleazar plays Detective Kat Donovan, Richard Armitage portrays Ellis Stagger, Jessica Plummer is Stacey Embalo, Lenny Henry acts as Clint Donovan. The rest of the cast features Steve Pemberton as Titus, Paul Kaye in the role of Monte Leburne, Samantha Spiro as Nurse Sally Steiner, Lisa Faulkner as Dana Fells, Mary Malone as Aqua, Ashley Walters as Buchanan, Alice Offley as Tamsin Salter, James Nesbitt as Calligan, Matt Willis as Daryl, and Felix Garcia Guyer as Reynaldo.
Presented by Quay Street Productions, the show titled “Missing You” was penned by Victoria Asare-Archer and steered by Sean Spencer in the director’s chair. Coben serves as an executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions. Furthermore, Daniel Brocklehurst, Richard Fee, and Nicola Shindler also hold the title of executive producer. Lastly, Guy Hescott is credited as a producer on this production.
Missing You is inspired by Harlan Coben’s 2014 novel with the same title. Unlike the book, which unfolds in the U.S., the series will be set in Britain. Missing You marks Coben’s ninth collaboration with Netflix. It aims to replicate the success of Fool Me Once, a massive hit that ranks as the eighth most-watched English-language Netflix TV show ever produced.
