Mina the Hollower gets Halloween release date and new Steam demo

For several years, the team from Yacht Club Games has been diligently developing their upcoming game. Occasionally, fans have caught glimpses of Mina the Hollower, but a specific launch date was always out of reach. However, at this year’s Summer Game Fest, the wait is over! Yacht Club officially revealed that Mina the Hollower now has a set release date and even made a playable demo available to the public.

Mina the Hollower is all set for release on October 31st. It’s a bit fitting that a game about a mouse hunting monsters should be released on Halloween! For those not in the know, Mina the Hollower follows its titular character as she attempts to purge a haunted island of its monster inhabitants. Armed with an impressive arsenal and equipped with the ability to burrow underground during battles or to tackle challenging overhead platforming sections, Mina is reminiscent of games from the Game Boy Color era. Shovel Knight was a tribute to NES-era platformers, while Mina pays homage to that same era in terms of its retro handheld-style presentation. Reading about an experience is different from actually trying it out, and that’s exactly what Yacht Club Games has offered today. They announced that starting now and lasting until the end of Steam Next Fest, you can play a demo for Mina the Hollower. This demo includes the game’s first complete level and finishes with its initial boss battle. Your progress in this demo will carry over to the full release in October.
