Beyond the figures for revenue and earnings per share, there’s a wealth of data to be found in Microsoft’s (MSFT) Quarter 2, 2025 financial report. One such piece is the disclosure that they invested approximately $9.7 billion in stock repurchases during this period.
Microsoft announced its latest stock buyback in its earnings report for Q2 2025.
In the same vein as the last quarter, I’ve noticed that Microsoft shelled out a substantial sum of $9 million to reacquire their own stock from shareholders. Unfortunately, they haven’t shared much insight into the reasoning behind this move or whether they plan to repeat it in upcoming quarters.
In simpler terms, Microsoft earned approximately $9.7 billion during the recent quarter, which represents a larger total of around $69.9 billion in overall revenue for the company.
