Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will let you rent planes from other users

As a seasoned aviator with countless hours logged in various flight simulators, I can’t help but feel my heart soar at the prospect of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024‘s innovative rental feature. Having spent my hard-earned savings on virtual aircraft over the years, the idea of testing out a new ride before making a commitment is nothing short of a dream come true!

The user-generated content was a vital aspect of Microsoft Flight Simulator and is expected to continue being essential in MSFS 2024. Notably, in addition to purchasing aircraft developed by fellow gamers, players will be given the opportunity to lease these aircraft as well.

At a press gathering that Shacknews was part of, Asobo Studio unveiled a leasing option for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This feature allows users to lease aircraft at a more affordable price compared to buying them outright. Moreover, players will be given the flexibility to choose the length of their lease, ranging from a single day up to an entire week.

If a player chooses to rent a vehicle, they’ll receive a discount if they later decide to buy it. This incentive arises from Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, who expressed dissatisfaction with movie rental services. Furthermore, rentals are intended to ease the pricing burden on third-party developers when selling their products within the in-game marketplace.

It’s intriguing to observe how the community will incorporate the rental function when using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. To discover more about the diverse gameplay modes in MSFS 2024, take a look at our insights following some hands-on experience with the game.
