Microsoft has chosen to delay the installation of a recent Windows 11 update, as it appears to be causing issues with certain Ubisoft games such as Assassin’s Creed Origins. In simpler terms, they’ve temporarily halted the update due to compatibility problems with these specific titles.
Upon installing the latest update, I’ve noticed an unexpected drop in performance and occasional crashes, particularly when playing titles from specific publishers. Here’s a comprehensive rundown of the affected games:

Ubisoft has already issued a fix for Star Wars Outlaws, but they and Microsoft continue to collaborate on a broader solution. On their support page, Microsoft stated: “Ubisoft and Microsoft are working together to find a resolution, and we’ll share more details when they become available.
For now, if you’ve upgraded to update 24H2 and find that its subtly redesigned taskbar is causing issues with your games, you have two options: you can force the problematic games to close using the Task Manager, or revert back to a previous version of Windows, as there seems to be no other workaround available at this time.
