39-year-old actress Michelle Trachtenberg, recognized for performances in shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Eurotrip, Disney’s Ice Princess, among others, tragically passed away on a recent Wednesday.
Following news about her demise, it’s been revealed that the actress was discovered by her mother on a weekday in her apartment situated in New York City. It’s been reported by ABC News that she had undergone a liver transplant not long ago, but no specific cause of death has been announced at this point.
Trachtenberg’s acting career took off in the mid-1990s, starting with appearances on shows like Law & Order, All My Children, and others. In 1994, she made her mark on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete, eventually becoming a regular face on Nickelodeon television. The following year, she starred in the Nickelodeon movie Harriet the Spy, which revolved around adolescence.
Following her tenure at Nickelodeon, Trachtenberg gained prominence by starring as Dawn Summers on the popular supernatural series Buffy the Vampire Slayer for 66 episodes. During this period, she also appeared in the 2004 teen comedy Eurotrip and the 2005 Disney sports drama Ice Princess.
2008 saw Trachtenberg making an appearance on the popular drama series Gossip Girl, portraying the character Georgina Sparks consistently across multiple episodes. More recently, she has been active in various Hollywood projects, also taking on the role of host for a documentary series called Meet, Marry, Murder.
