Michael Jackson Biopic Release Date Pushed Back Several Months

As a long-time Michael Jackson fan who grew up listening to his music and watching his iconic performances, I must admit that I am both excited and somewhat impatient for the release of Antoine Fuqua’s biopic, “Michael.” Having followed the development of this project since its inception, I was initially disappointed when I heard the news of yet another delay. But, as a wise man once said, good things come to those who wait!

The scheduled debut for Antoine Fuqua’s Michael Jackson biography movie, named “Michael“, has been delayed by a few months now.

Currently, Fuqua is developing a biographical film focusing on the life of Michael Jackson. In this production, Jaafar Jackson will portray the main character, Michael himself. The cast also includes Colman Domingo in the role of Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Miles Teller as John Branca, and several other talented actors.

When is the new release date for Michael?

Initially planned for a U.S. theater release on April 18, 2025, the movie “Michael” will now premiere in U.S. cinemas on October 3, 2025, according to Deadline. Meanwhile, Universal Pictures is responsible for the international distribution of the film.

Michael’s revised premiere date aligns with the cinema debut of Derek Cianfrance’s “Roofman,” a gripping crime drama film featuring stars like Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, Peter Dinklage, LaKeith Stanfield, and others.

In a week’s time on October 10, 2025, the upcoming Tron sequel, TRON: Ares, featuring Jared Leto, will be hitting movie theaters near you.

The film synopsis shares that Michael will deliver a gripping and truthful depiction of the multifaceted man who gained global fame as the Pop King. This grand, cinematic production aims to delve into Jackson’s triumphs and tribulations – his personal life, professional struggles, allegations, and the constant media scrutiny he faced, even during his artistic peak. The talented filmmaking crew will also highlight Michael’s indisputable creative brilliance by recreating his most legendary performances. For the first time, viewers will gain an intimate perspective on one of the world’s most impactful and groundbreaking artists.
