On Friday, it was announced that Meta would be teaming up with another glasses manufacturer, Oakley, for a fresh line of AI-driven sports glasses, starting with the Oakley Meta HSTN.
The Oakley Meta HSTN is being marketed as smart glasses equipped with artificial intelligence, appealing to both athletes and spectators. It promises a significantly longer battery life compared to competitors, offering around 8 hours of regular use and up to 19 hours when on standby, which can be extended further with an additional 48 hours from the included case. The device boasts excellent clarity and the ability to capture Ultra HD 3K videos using its 12MP camera. It also allows users to access the Meta AI personal assistant at any moment.
According to a press release by Meta VP of Wearables Alex Himel, glasses are now seen as the perfect device for people to enjoy music, record videos, and utilize advanced AI assistance.
